Eco Backpacks and Bags If you bring your own pack or tote bag, you don't need to accept a brand new plastic or paper bag every time you buy something. You can save lots of trees (or oil reserves), keep throw-away bags out of landfills, and look more hip and stylish -- all at the same time! Note: Most of our personal accessories are made from hemp. Hemp is a durable and easy-to-grow fiber that has been used successfully to make paper, textiles, building materials, food, medicine, paint, detergent, varnish, oil, ink, and fuel. This hardy and versatile plant tolerates many climates, and requires less water than cotton. The only thing we don't like about hemp is that it's not grown in the U.S. -- the fibers must be shipped from around the globe.
