About Air Filters
Given that indoor air quality is 3 to 5 times more dangerous than air outdoors, an immediate and obvious thing you can do is improve the quality of the air you breath at home. Green Home has reviewed most major air filters and is proud to bring you the most effective, cost effective and energy efficient air filtration devices on the market. For most customers, our Air Pura line meets the needs of a typical household.
When choosing an air filter, it can be helpful to consider which pollutants you want to remove, and what problem you are attempting to correct. Some filters remove outgassing vapors produced by toxic products and some remove particulates such as dust mites and allergens. A few remove both types of pollutants. Most air filters attract and neutralize pollutants either through mechanical filtration (such as High-Efficiency Particulate Arrestance [HEPA] which is best for particulates) or through activated carbon, which absorbs pollutant gases. Read each product description to determine which filter is best for you.
To maximize your filter's effectiveness, place it in an area away from windows, vents, heating and cooling appliances, and other direct sources of air. Clean your filter often to avoid mold and mildew buildup.
